The award-winning documentaries featured on this page were all created by Texas Pictures with teams of volunteer teens assembled by Texas Pictures. The team members for each production all had career interests in filmmaking, journalism, law enforcement, or similar media or public-service-related professions. Some team members went on to pursue careers in filmmaking - one works in production at Showtime, another is a producer at the Hallmark Channel, one is a police officer, one is a state trooper, and many others are still pursuing career interests in production.
By involving teens in every stage of production, we were able to include in each film a perspective uniquely connected to audiences of their peers. The involvement of teenagers also generated substantial media coverage during and after production of each documentary, increasing public awareness of the production and of the topic.
